I had purchased the Border Route pack a little over a year ago for extended day hikes and some light camping. I find it most useful however to haul all my gear when kayak fishing. This is a very large back pack, and can swallow loads of gear (not sure of the cubic inch volume as it's not listed). The side straps can hold fishingpoles on one side, and my oar on the other. The flat front pocket is great for lake maps and a small tackle box. Confortable to wear for long periods, and solid quality and construction as usual from these folks!!!! After a long weekend of hard muddy use, I empty the pack, hose it down in the yard and hang it to dry by it's haul loop. Ready at moments notice.
