This is the perfect size lumbar pack for day hikes. Not too big or too small. You can bring the essentials for a safe and pleasant walk in any weather.
I was so pleased with the first one that I purchased a second one and now have one for my truck, and one for my Subaru. I use them for hill walking exercise trips in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.
I added a Battle Lake padded shoulder strap to both, and a Battle Lake cell phone pouch to one of them. The shoulder strap distributes the load between shoulders and hips, and makes it easy to release the belt and slide the pack around to access the water bottles. The water bottles are also made in USA and are lighter than Nalgene water bottles.
Best lumbar pack I've ever purchased, and I've owned several major brands.
