Grand Portage Pack Review:
Awesome pack for my style of adventuring! I often fly to the Rockies to climb (winter) multiple day trips. I laugh when I see my buddy's fancy pants rei special pack bursting at the seams and dangling with supplies like a Christmas tree displaying ornaments. I always am able to fit everything in my pack and it holds up during rigorous travel due to its material. It's heavier for mountaineering but what I save in convenience and strength I don't care. People at camp Muir on rainier bet against me when the saw me arrive with that bag, but after successfully summiting Mount Rainier with your pack they all had different looks on sir faces, and all enquirer about my pack. With all that being said it isn't a mountaineering pack and I do suffer in the comfort department slightly due to the lack of a frame and lower back support that would normally distribute the weight onto my hips more taking it off my shoulders. I don't care though and I plan on taking this pack up Denali next. It's funny how I always have to care gear for my climbing partner because of his lack of room in his pack! If you like to kick ass...this is a great bag!
